This will be our 6th SongFest For Vets we want to Thank everyone who has been supporting us! Come with us to honor our Korean War Veterans. Music, Food, Drinks. Meet our sponsors. It's been 70 years these guys are dissappearing we need to hear what they have to say. |
Here we have a few SongFest video promos with help from Chief Cherry and his Red Beans & Rice band This is LIVE from Heidis Jazz Club Cocoa Beach Florida |
Seventy years ago, the Korean War ended with a cease-fire, not a victory or a peace deal. "We don't call it the Forgotten War, we call it the forgotten victory," said retired U.S. Marine Col. Warren Wiedhahn. "We saved South Korea from becoming a communist country." "Now don't get me wrong. The [cease-fire] was welcomed because that meant that the Marines and soldiers were not getting killed anymore. But to me, to us who had fought in the beginning, it was kind of an anti-climactic," he said. At 94, Wiedhahn is president of the Chosin Few, a group of vets who fought at Chosin Reservoir, a freezing 17-day battle with the Chinese army. Wiedhahn said it might not have been clear at the time, but it sure is now. South Korea is democratic and among the world's leading economies, while the North is an impoverished, brutal dictatorship. Wiedhahn just wishes the United Nations force, led by the U.S., had held on to more of the Korean peninsula before the cease-fire. At a certain point they had driven North Korean forces all the way to the Chinese border before being pushed south again. |

Our Veterans know what it
is like to fight for Freedom. The same is now true of each
and every Ukrainian. This event, which is free to the public
will raise money through donations that will be sent to
Ukrainians in urgent need of our help and support. We will
also honor our American Veterans on this Armed Forces Day! The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #9610 and the American Legion proudly sponsor this fundraising event that will offer Ukrainian food, art and music at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, Florida on May 21st (Armed Forces Day) from 2-11 pm. |
FUND RAISING GOALS |
1-Kyiv
Angels are a group of Volunteers who search from building to
building in Kyiv and the surrounding towns for
mobility-challenged elderly who were left behind by refugees
running for their lives. There is a long list of needed
items. Donors will see the results of their donations,
quickly and potentially even during the show. 2-
A farm in the suburbs of Kyiv is sheltering more than 250
pets, who have been separated from their families.
Every day more animals arrive. Your donations will go
directly provide for the care and feeding of these orphaned
pets. The War has
left hundreds more animals like these, who need to be
transported to the farm, fed and cared for, every day. 3-
It’s planting season in Ukraine and farmers are desperately
trying to plant the crops that the World is dependent on,
including wheat and potatoes. Your donations will go to buy
parts and make repairs on equipment and irrigation systems.
Make a difference! Donate now to support veterans, support Ukraine, and support freedom. Spend an entertaining afternoon honoring and helping those who fought for our freedom in the past and those fighting for our freedom now. Help us ensure that the wounded, disabled, the elderly and even all those animals have the support they need. Your donations will definitely help! |

HERE IS SONGFEST I on May 13, 2021 |
SongFest 2021 at the
South Florida Fairgrounds On behalf of VFW Post #9610, Thank you so much for your interest and support to SongFest for Vets initial offering last May 13, 2021 at the South Florida Fair. In all, we raised more than $11,000 for the event, had a wonderful show that was attended by more than 500 folks, and contributed to some great Veterans Organizations!! None of that would have been possible without your help! |
Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 and to demonstrate some specific impacts that your donations will provide to Vets at places like the VFW Village and others. Some of the bands this year will be made up completely of Veterans who are also musicians. We’re also looking at including some youth participation to help educate our future generations about what supporting Veterans can really mean and do for our community. |
