SMOOTHIES THAT HEAL by Valerie Ramdin |
Valerie has lived the last 20 years suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. She was on a bevy of prescriptions to manage the symptoms since the onset of this devastating disease.
She took a bold step and cast away all the medications and researched and experimented with different Smoothie ingredients. With MS, she experienced optic neuritis, muscle weakness, limb paralysis, migraines, digestive disorders, numbness and tingling, facial paralysis, balance issues, burning sensations when exercising, muscle spasms and weight gain.
By incorporating more raw fruit and vegetables into her diet and by integrating other lifestyle changes she has been able to recede all her MS symptoms. In her new book Smoothies that heal she shows you just how easy it is to get started. If you know someone with Multiple Sclerosis symptoms this book is the gift you can give. MS is just one of the inflammatory diseases that you can effect by these changes. Including Alzheimer, Arthritis, IBS, Chrohn's Disease, Arteriosclerosis, Lupus, and Diabetes.

Your fruit scrap; the peels, apple cores, rinds, orange skins, put them in a bag or old Starbucks cup in the Freezer. Then you wont get fruit flies until you're ready to take them out.
I'll be honest, until Valerie showed me I didn't know what Kale was. I vaguely heard about it. Kale is very low cost, like a $1.50 for some big stalks. One cup of Kale provides about 10% of the RDA of omega-3 fatty acids that helps regulate the body's inflammatory process. A megadose of vitamin K further aids to fight against excessive inflammatory-related problems, such as arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and asthma. Hmm no wonder Valerie uses it!
What to put your Smoothies in after you made a blender full? Use pickle jars! Or the Peanut butter jar. Any jars, why throw away those jars. They're not made to be re-used but you can get away with it for a little while. The advantage of a Jar over a Pitcher is you can shake the jar to get all the pulp. Don't wanna waste that, its full of nutrients! After the blender, jar, or your glass, is empty, pour in a little water to drink up the the leftover pulp. Why wash the nutirents down the drain.
